Carson City, Nevada’s state capital, is served by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s department operates a modern jail facility completed in 1999. Visiting hours at the jail (also called a detention facility) are Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m., Thursdays from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m., and Sundays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. Visitors to the jail must be on the inmates’ visitor list, and must bring a valid driver’s license or ID.
