Alameda County, Booking and Jail Release Information:
Bail can be posted in the Santa Rita Jail lobby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All inmates who are determined to be eligible for release will be released as quickly as possible. However, this procedure can take up to several hours. It is recommended that you wait until receiving a telephone call from the released inmate before coming to the jail. By going to the jail to wait for someone to get released you might potentially wait up to 8 hours. It takes 6-12 hours for a person to get booked into the Alameda County Jail before they are eligible for bail. At which point you can post a bail bond for the inmate to secure their release which usually takes another 4 hours.
Below is information that will assist you in how bail works and many of the county’s government sites that are applicable to bail bonds and criminal matters.
